Up to 90% of students identified as GT within a school program fall into this profile. These students are adept at working the systems they are part of. Because these students seek approval from their parents, peers, and teachers, they are rarely a behavior problem.

Although they are academically capable, these students often choose to get by with as little effort as possible. They may fail to develop autonomy, and might struggle into adulthood because they do not develop attitudes, skills, and concepts that support life-long learning.
